ABSTRACT

——Low science motivation is alarming in educational systems. The Mediating Effect of Mindfulness Practices on the Correlation Between Self-Reflection and Science Motivation was verified. Using predictive research design, collecting data from 252 student samples in a school within Division of Davao City with the use of a simple random sampling technique, findings revealed that mindfulness practices partially but significantly mediate the relationship between self-reflection and science motivation. Supporting Self-Regulated Learning Theory, the finding reveals that mindfulness practices partially but significantly mediate the link between predictor and criterion variables. Future research may explore additional mediators beyond those studied, while school leaders may allocate funds to boost mindfulness practices towards strengthening the correlation of the variables mentioned. Keywords: Effect of mindfulness practices, self-reflection, science motivation, science and technology engineering and mathematics, mediation analysis
