Outlook of Overseas Filipino Worker: Significant Value Towards Increasing Economy

ABSTRACT

— The study focuses on the outlook of Overseas Filipino Workers. This has optimistic significance in valuing the increasing economy. Positive outlook is beyond an expectation. Valuing economy creates great vision for progressive countries. This is the sectors that must be given importance. The population of Overseas Filipino Workers is a research gap in the study. Qualitative methods with multiple case study approach are used. The purposive sampling techniques are used to identify the participants. The data collection techniques use interview, observation, focus group discussion and document review. The data analysis used is the framework for creating propositions, organizing phenomena, developing themes, and examining synthesis. The findings of the study are presented in three subtopics with ten themes. These are the theme one with positive outlook of overseas Filipino workers includes positive stance, characteristics, skills, workplace, and popular jobs; theme two with significance of overseas Filipino workers includes values, major contributions, and reasons; theme three with contribution of overseas Filipino workers in increasing economy includes positive outlook contribution and contribution in increasing economy. The study concludes that there is a significant value of overseas Filipino Workers in increasing economy. The sector group makes a large contribution to economic conditions in the country. The study recommends the following to 1) initiate a financial literacy program for the family members; 2) provide a follow-up services to the children for the welfare, health and education; 3) undergo investment opportunities; 4) support enhancement for entrepreneurship; 5) referral to concern government agency for other support services.
