ABSTRACT

—— Poor problem-solving skills in science remain a challenge in education. This study examined the influence of inquiry-based learning (IBL) and technology integration on students’ problem-solving skills. This study uses a diagnostic research design, stratified random sampling, a survey technique, and multiple linear regression analysis. The data collected from 215 respondents showed that only inquiry-based learning had a significant influence on the criterion, partly supporting the Social Cognitive Theory. Other determinants may be explored through the qualitative generated themes. A training program that promotes inquiry-based learning strategies and the purposeful integration of technology to strengthen students’ scientific problem-solving competencies is proposed.
