—— Low student engagement in science is a problem in education. This study examined classroom environment and perceived teaching style as determinants of student learning engagement among 216 Junior High School students. Diagnostic research design, total enumeration sampling, survey technique, and multiple regression analysis were applied. It was revealed that only classroom environment shows a significant contribution on the criterion, partly and partially affirming the Social Cognitive Theory. Future researchers may examine additional variables explaining the remaining 41% of the variance, while school administrators may improve science engagement through supportive, student-centered, and interactive learning environments. Keywords: Influence of classroom environment, perceived teaching style, student learning engagement in science
