ABSTRACT

——This research aims to identify the relationship between learning motivation and academic performance of the chosen Grade VI pupils of Porac East District, Division of Pampanga for SY 2024-2025. This study employed a quantitative approach, particularly a descriptive-correlational research design. The respondents of this study were the public elementary grade 6 teachers and students. The results showed that Grade 6 students possesses high levels of intrinsic and extrinsic motivations since their grand mean scores were high, 4.39, 4.25, 4.39, 4.28 respectively. However, respondents did not score differently for intrinsic motivations; t=1.89, p=.061. Respondents scored differently for extrinsic motivations; t=2.11, p=.0036. 33.80% of the pupils achieved a very satisfactory performance, as evidenced by grade averages of 85-89. Meanwhile, 32.39% of the pupils were rated as having satisfactory performance, with a grade average of 80-84. There was a sensible positive association between intrinsic motivation and academic performance. Likewise, there was a positive relationship between extrinsic motivation and academic performance. The Project AIM (Advancing Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation) intervention plan was intended to influence the lowest weighted mean indicators derived from the sixth-grade students’ motivation survey.
