—— Generally, the study aimed to assess students’ research competencies and performance in practical research subjects as a basis for a sustainability plan for the Division of Mabalacat City for the School Year 2024-2025. The study’s respondents were selected from grade 12 students who had taken both Practical Research 1 and 2 subjects. This study employed a quantitative research approach using a descriptive-correlational research design. The study employed statistical tools such as weighted mean, standard deviation, and Pearson Correlation. Based on the findings, senior high school students were generally “competent” across all stages of the research process, namely: identifying research problem (2.96), reviewing literature (2.95), conceptualizing frameworks (2.90), hypothesizing (2.75), data gathering (3.06), data analysis (2.92), interpreting results (2.97), and reporting findings (2.96). The majority of senior high school students (67.9%) demonstrated a “very satisfactory” performance. There was a strong, significant positive correlation between research competence and students’ academic performance, as evidenced by an r-value of 0.773 and a p-value of 0.000. The proposed sustainability plan was crafted to enhance the weakest research competence indicators of the senior high school students.
